The mountain is especially renowned for its groves of pomegranates and the giant, juicy fruit that they produce in late summer. Each year, from mid-March until mid-May, the village terraces on Al Jabal Al Akhdar also come alive with colour, and the aroma of what are thousands upon thousands of pink Damask rosebuds bursting into bloom.
